ABC Alabama’s Safe Day is an annual celebration of safety directors, company owners, and employees committed to promoting and continually improving workplace safety. Founded by the Alabama Chapter and brought to life through the vision of ABC Alabama President Jay Reed, Safe Day has now become nationally recognized as a leading example of elevating safety across the construction industry.

The Innovation in Safety Award is presented to companies employing unique and forward-thinking safety measures to protect their workforce. The Eagle Award, the highest recognition for Safety Excellence at the state level, was awarded to just six companies across Alabama this year and Tusco was proud to be among them.

The 2025 recognition comes on the heels of Tusco’s return from ABC’s National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, where we were honored with a National Safety Merit Award for our outstanding safety performance in 2024. This national recognition evaluated every aspect of Tusco’s safety program and included interviews with Tusco’s President and Executive Vice President, reinforcing that safety must be a top-down philosophy. At Tusco, safety leadership starts at the highest level of the organization and is woven into the fabric of every project, policy, and person.

“Receiving these awards two years in a row is more than a milestone,” said Brent Martina, President of Tusco. “It reflects our unwavering belief that every employee deserves to go home safely each day. We are grateful to ABC Alabama and the STEP program for providing the tools, resources, and support that make safety excellence possible.”
